Active Ingredient

The active ingredient is:

Imidacloprid

Imidacloprid is a neonicotinoid insecticide that acts on the nervous system of fleas. It kills fleas following contact and exposure to the treated dog’s skin and coat.

What Does Advantage Treat?

Advantage is primarily intended for:

• Adult fleas

• Flea infestations

• Flea larvae in the dog’s environment, by reducing flea reproduction

• Flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) as part of effective flea control

Advantage is not a comprehensive worming treatment and does not replace a dedicated tick, intestinal worm or heartworm preventative where those parasites require control.

How It Works

After application, imidacloprid spreads over the dog’s skin and coat. Fleas are exposed to the active ingredient and are killed.

Regular monthly treatment helps reduce the number of adult fleas and can help interrupt the flea life cycle by reducing the cause significant itching and skin irritation in sensitive dogs. By killing fleas and number of viable flea stages developing in the environment.

How to Apply

For dogs over 25 kg:

1. Weigh your dog to confirm it is in the correct weight category.

2. Select the Advantage Over 25 kg pipette.

3. Remove the pipette from its packaging.

4. Hold the pipette upright and open it according to the package instructions.

5. Part the dog’s coat so the product can be applied directly onto the skin.

6. Apply the entire contents of the pipette as directed.

7. Allow the application site to dry naturally.

8. Prevent the dog from licking the application site immediately after treatment.

For larger dogs, the product may need to be applied at multiple points along the back, depending on the specific local product instructions.

Treatment Schedule

For ongoing flea control, administer one treatment approximately every 4 weeks.

The 4-pack therefore provides approximately:

Flea Allergy Dermatitis
