Overview
Kuhli Loaches are small, peaceful, and schooling freshwater fish that grow up to 4 inches in aquariums. They are ideal for beginner and experienced aquarists, providing activity and interest in community tanks.

• pH: 6.0–7.5

• Hardness: 4–8 dGH

• Substrate: Soft, sandy substrate

• Filtration: Gentle flow to avoid stress

Tank Setup
Kuhli Loaches thrive in planted aquariums with hiding spots such as driftwood, rocks, and dense vegetation. Floating plants and subdued lighting help them feel secure.

Behavior & Tankmates

• Peaceful and social, best kept in groups of five or more

• Ideal tankmates: Danios, Rasboras, and other small, non-aggressive fish

• Can cohabitate with aquarium shrimp for additional tank cleaning

Diet
Omnivorous; feed small portions several times a day using flakes, frozen foods, and live foods.

Breeding

• Requires a separate breeding tank of at least 10 gallons

• Dense planting, spawning mops, or floating plants recommended

• Eggs hatch after about four days; fry need liquid or small live foods

Health & Care

• Susceptible to Ich, Dropsy, and bacterial/fungal infections

• Maintain clean water and proper filtration to prevent disease
