Active ingredient

Selamectin – 120 mg/mL

Selamectin is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic belonging to the avermectin family. After topical application, it is absorbed through the skin and distributed through the body, where it acts against susceptible internal and external parasites.

What does Neovela treat?

Neovela for dogs is designed to control:

• Adult fleas

• Flea eggs and larvae

• Flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) as part of flea control

• Ear mites

How it works

Selamectin is absorbed after application to the dog’s skin. It is then distributed through the body and skin, allowing it to act against both external parasites and susceptible intestinal parasites.

For fleas, Neovela kills adult fleas as well as flea eggs and larvae, helping interrupt the flea life cycle and reduce reinfestation in the home.

How to apply

For a dog weighing 10.1–20 kg:

1. Remove one pipette from the package.

2. Hold the tube upright and open it according to the packaging instructions.

3. Have the dog standing.

4. Part the hair at the base of the neck, between the shoulder blades, until the skin is visible.

5. Place the pipette directly against the skin.

6. Apply the entire contents of the pipette directly onto the skin.

7. Do not massage or rub the product into the skin.

8. Avoid contact with the application site until it has dried.

9. Repeat the treatment every month.

Do not divide a pipette between animals. Use the entire pipette intended for the dog’s weight range.

Bathing and water

Allow the treatment to remain undisturbed after application. The product information states that Neovela becomes waterproof approximately 2 hours after application. Avoid bathing or washing the dog during this initial period.

Puppies

The Neovela range includes separate formulations for puppies and small dogs, with the NZ range beginning at up to 2.5 kg, followed by 2.6–5 kg, 5.1–10 kg, 10.1–20 kg, and 20.1–40 kg.

For a growing puppy, check its weight before each treatment so the correct pipette is used.

Important precautions

• For dogs only.
