Petsafe ScoopFree Crystal Classic Self-Cleaning Litter Box

Product Description

The PetSafe ScoopFree Crystal Classic Self-Cleaning Litter Box is an automatic litter box designed to eliminate the need for regular scooping and make cat-litter maintenance easier. It uses ScoopFree Crystal Litter to absorb urine and dehydrate solid waste, while an automatic rake removes solid waste into a covered waste area. PetSafe states that the crystal litter provides 5× better odour control than traditional clumping litter.

Key Features

• Automatic self-cleaning – The rake automatically removes solid waste after your cat leaves the litter box.

• No daily scooping – Designed to operate for weeks without regular manual scooping.

• Crystal litter system – Uses specialised ScoopFree Crystal Litter to absorb moisture and help control odours.

• 5× odour control – PetSafe claims up to five times better odour control than traditional clumping litter.

• 99% dust-free litter – The crystal litter is designed to minimise dust and mess.

• Low tracking – Crystals are designed to reduce the amount of litter carried outside the tray.

• Leak protection – Disposable trays feature a plastic lining to help protect floors from leaks.

• Easy tray replacement – When the tray is ready to be changed, simply remove the complete tray and replace it.

• Safety sensors – The automatic rake operates only when your cat is out of the box.

• Suitable for single- or multi-cat households – PetSafe lists the product for both, although actual tray replacement frequency depends on usage.

How It Works

After your cat uses the litter box and leaves, the safety sensors detect that the box is empty. The automatic rake then moves through the crystal litter, collecting solid waste and depositing it into the covered waste area.

The crystal litter absorbs liquid waste and helps dehydrate solid waste, reducing unpleasant odours and keeping the litter bed fresher between cleaning cycles.

Crystal Litter Benefits

The ScoopFree Crystal Classic is specifically designed to work with PetSafe ScoopFree Crystal Litter.

The crystals:

• Absorb urine rather than forming traditional clumps.

• Help dehydrate solid waste.

• Reduce unpleasant odours.

• Produce less dust.

• Help reduce tracking around the home.

PetSafe states that its crystal litter is 99% dust-free and provides up to 5× better odour control compared with traditional clumping litter.

Disposable Litter Tray

The system uses a disposable litter tray rather than requiring you to empty and wash a conventional tray.

The disposable tray has a plastic lining to provide leak protection. When the litter becomes saturated or the tray needs replacing, you can remove the entire tray. A supplied lid allows the tray to be covered before disposal, helping make the replacement process cleaner and more hygienic.

How Long Does It Last?

The ScoopFree Crystal system is designed to operate for weeks between tray changes. Actual tray life depends on the number of cats using it, their size, frequency of use and environmental conditions.

For kittens under 6 months of age, PetSafe recommends leaving the automatic litter box unplugged and manually scooping until the kitten reaches six months.
