When your pet approaches within approximately 0.9–1 metre, the motion sensor detects movement and releases a quick, odourless spray. The harmless burst startles your pet and encourages them to move away from the restricted area. How It Works

Place the SSSCAT™ unit near an area you want your pet to avoid. When your cat or dog moves into the sensor’s detection zone, the unit releases a short burst of unscented spray.

Safety & Placement

Position the unit so your pet passes in front of it rather than directly toward the device, and avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight, as heat can interfere with the motion sensor. PetSafe also advises against using the device near pet birds because the spray and activation can startle them.
