How It Works

The PetSafe Standard In-Ground Radio Fence uses a transmitter and a continuous loop of buried boundary wire to establish an invisible perimeter.

The transmitter sends a radio signal through the boundary wire. Your dog wears a compatible receiver collar that detects this signal when approaching the boundary.

When your dog gets close to the boundary, the receiver produces a warning tone. If your dog continues toward the boundary, the receiver delivers the selected static correction.

With proper training, your dog learns to associate the warning with the boundary and return to the safe area.
