Tank Mates

Peaceful, community aquarium. They live well with tank mates such as Tetras, Rasbora, Livebearers, etc of similar size. They like a planted aquarium with hiding places.

Water Requirements for Loaches

Loaches come from a variety of water conditions, but most will thrive in the average aquarium. pH should be maintained between 6.0 and 8.0, with alkalinity between 3° and 10° dKH (50 to 175 ppm). All loaches require clean, well oxygenated water with moderate to strong flow.

Tank requirement 

The tank should ideally have live plants present to provide cover, especially for the more shy species. If live plants are not used, then the addition of plastic plants and suitable ornaments is recommended, such as plant pots or model caves, which provides the fish with shelter.

 Zebras are an excellent choice for the community tank, but they must be kept in groups of at least five or more of their own kind.

Lifespan. The Zebra Loach has the potential to live for over 15 years.
