The Aqua One IFXE 50 Internal Filter is a compact, fully submersible aquarium filter designed for tanks up to 50 litres. It provides mechanical, chemical and biological filtration to help maintain clean, healthy water for your fish, while its space-saving design fits neatly inside the aquarium.

With a maximum flow rate of 250 litres per hour, the IFXE 50 uses a black filter sponge to capture suspended debris and an activated carbon cartridge to help absorb dissolved impurities. The sponge also provides a surface for beneficial bacteria to grow, supporting biological filtration and a stable aquarium environment.

The filter offers flexible outlet options to suit different aquarium setups. Use the duckbill outlet with the included airline and silencer for aeration, or fit the spray bar to distribute water across a wider area. Suction cups help secure the unit to the aquarium glass for convenient installation.

Installation and Maintenance

1. Secure the filter inside the aquarium using the supplied suction cups.

2. Choose the duckbill outlet or spray-bar arrangement to suit your aquarium.

3. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installing the airline and Venturi attachment.

4. Rinse the carbon cartridge before first use as directed in the instructions.

5. Clean the sponge gently in removed aquarium water to help preserve beneficial bacteria.

6. Inspect the impeller and intake regularly, removing debris when necessary.

7. Replace the carbon cartridge when required, following the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Maintenance tip: Avoid washing established biological filter media in untreated tap water, as chlorine and chloramine can harm beneficial bacteria.
