Product Description

Keep your aquarium water clean and clear with the Aqua One White Wool Filter Pad, designed as replacement mechanical filter media for compatible Aqua One Aquis 500 and 700 external canister filters.

This fine filter wool is designed to trap small suspended particles and fine debris as water passes through your aquarium filtration system. It helps capture waste that may pass through coarser mechanical filter media, including fine fish waste, uneaten food particles, plant debris and other floating impurities.

The soft, fibrous structure provides an effective polishing stage within your filtration system, helping reduce visible particles and improve overall water clarity. By collecting fine debris before water returns to the aquarium, the wool pad helps maintain cleaner-looking aquarium water.

Ideal for freshwater and marine aquarium filtration systems, the Aqua One Wool Pad provides an additional level of mechanical filtration alongside your existing filter media. It is particularly useful as a final polishing layer after coarser sponge media.

Supplied in a convenient two-pack, these replacement filter wool pads make routine aquarium filter maintenance simple and convenient.

For optimum filtration performance, inspect the wool regularly and replace it when it becomes heavily soiled or clogged.

Why Use Filter Wool?

Filter wool is commonly used as a fine mechanical filtration layer in aquarium filters. Its fine fibres help collect small particles that may pass through coarser sponge media.

Using filter wool as part of a multi-stage filtration system helps:

• Capture fine suspended waste.
• Reduce floating particles in aquarium water.
• Improve water clarity.
• Provide additional mechanical filtration.
• Keep larger filter media cleaner for longer.

Cleaning & Maintenance

For the best results:

• Check the filter wool regularly for accumulated debris.
• Replace when heavily soiled, clogged or restricting water flow.
• Avoid leaving excessively dirty wool inside the filter.
• Follow the manufacturer’s recommended filter cleaning schedule.
• When replacing filter media, avoid disturbing all established biological media at the same time.

Filter wool is generally treated as disposable mechanical media and should be replaced when dirty rather than relied upon as permanent biological filtration.
