Active Ingredient

Each Small Dog chew contains:

Afoxolaner — 28.3 mg

Afoxolaner belongs to the isoxazoline class of antiparasitic medicines. It is absorbed into the dog’s bloodstream after oral administration. Fleas and ticks are exposed to afoxolaner when they feed on the treated dog, resulting in their death.

What Does NexGard Treat?

NexGard provides control of:

• Adult fleas

• Flea infestations

• Ticks

• Flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) as part of effective flea control

NexGard is primarily a flea and tick product. It does not provide comprehensive treatment for intestinal worms or heartworm unless specifically used as part of a product/formulation that contains additional worming ingredients.

Flea Control

NexGard kills adult fleas after they feed on the treated dog. Monthly treatment helps control flea infestations and can help reduce flea reproduction and environmental contamination.

Effective flea control can also help manage flea allergy dermatitis, because reducing flea exposure reduces the likelihood of flea bites.

Tick Control

NexGard kills susceptible ticks following attachment and feeding. Regular monthly treatment helps provide ongoing tick protection.

Because tick species and risks vary by location, dogs living in areas with significant tick exposure should remain on an appropriate preventative schedule recommended by a veterinarian.

How to Administer

For dogs weighing 4–10 kg:

1. Weigh the dog accurately before treatment.

2. Give one complete NexGard chew orally.

3. The chew can generally be given with or without food.

4. Ensure the dog consumes the complete dose.

5. Do not divide the chew between animals.

6. Repeat once every month for continuous flea and tick protection.

Puppies

NexGard can be used in puppies from the minimum age and bodyweight specified on the current product label. Puppies should be weighed regularly because rapid growth can move them into another weight category.

Always select the chew according to the dog’s current body weight, rather than its expected adult weight.

Important Precautions

• For dogs only.

• Use the 4–10 kg strength for dogs within this weight range.

• Do not use a larger or smaller strength as a substitute without veterinary advice.
