How It Works

The SportDOG In-Ground Fence System uses a transmitter connected to a continuous loop of underground boundary wire.

The wire is installed around the area where you want your dog to remain. The transmitter sends a radio signal through the wire, creating an invisible boundary.

Your dog wears the receiver collar. When the receiver detects that your dog is approaching the boundary, it provides a warning tone. If your dog continues toward the boundary, the selected static correction is activated.

Through proper boundary training, your dog learns to associate the warning with the boundary and return to the designated safe area.
